چکیده

Background: Candida spp. are intra-oral commensals in 40-60% of human subjects and the precise factors involved development Candidiasis still not clear. The adherence to epithelial cells is one main pathogenic characteristics genus. Studies have shown that there variations capabilities different spp., which may explain why some species colonize mucosal surfaces more frequently than others. aim this study was estimate properties buccal determine antifungal susceptibility. Methods: 87 isolates from known non-diabetic patients with oral were collected diagnostic microbiology laboratories central Kerala. method Kimura Pearsall et al followed minor modifications test adherence. Results: All three exhibited varying capacity. C. albicans significantly adherent tropicalis krusei. Resistance observed among against fluconazole, voriconazole clotrimazole. Conclusions: In conclusion isolated candidiasis a higher capacity normal considered an essential virulence property. As anticipated displayed activity non-Candida species.

Molecular Identification and Antifungal Susceptibility Pattern of Non-albicans Candida Species Isolated from Vulvovaginal Candidiasis

Background: Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is an important health problem caused by Candida spp. The aim of this study was molecular identification, phylogenetic analysis, and evaluation of antifungal susceptibility of non-albicans Candida isolates from VVC. Methods: Vaginal secretion samples were collected from 550 vaginitis patients at Sayyad Shirazi Medical and Educational Center of Gorgan (...

Susceptibility pattern of Candida albicans isolated from Iranian patients to antifungal agents

Background and Purpose: Candidiasis is a major fungal infection, and Candida albicans is the major cause of infections in humans. The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) developed new breakpoints for antifungal agents against C. albicans. In this multi-center study, we aimed to determine the drug susceptibility profile of C. albicans, isolated from Iranian population according...

Adherence of Candida albicans and Candida dubliniensis to buccal and vaginal cells.

Twenty-seven Candida albicans strains and 26 Candida dubliniensis strains, isolated from HIV patients, were tested for their adherence to buccal and vaginal epithelial cells. Both species showed important levels of adhesion to buccal and vaginal epithelial cells, although C. albicans showed the highest levels of adhesion. These results suggest that both Candida species are well adapted, in term...
